The week had come and gone rather quickly, much to Trista's relief. Her work load over the week had been rather heavy, luckily she had been able to get the majority of it done. That gave her plenty of time to just relax, and not have to spend her entire weekend studying. She hadn't the faintest idea where Lucy had gotten off to, but didn't really didn't feel like hunting her down either. The Hufflepuff girl was probably off with friends, driving someone else up a tree. Normally it was Trista that Lucy bugged on weekends, so she really wasn't complaining about being able to have time to herself. Don't get her wrong, she loved Lucy as much as she loved her biological siblings, but sometimes the girl could be an odd one. They were best friends though, had been since their parents introduced them. The two were just so different in many more ways than they were alike. Of course, Hogwarts would never be able to change how close they were. It seemed like nothing would be able to do that, especially not some silly house rivalries. Trista refused to allow something so ancient to come between them. Honestly, house rivalries were before their time and they hadn't mattered before either of them started Hogwarts. Still, days without talking about clothes or boys were always good.
With the current absence of Lucy, and dissolved worry about homework, Trista was able to settle by the lake that sat out on the school's grounds. It had been weeks since she had been able to just admire the view as she had been so occupied with school lately. Looking into the depths of the water before, Trista found that she would give anything to be in there. Swimming was a favorite pastime of hers, something she shared with her Dad. Soon, she had to remind herself, she would be going swimming with her Dad over the summer. Just a few more weeks and they would be out for the summer. She was going to miss being at Hogwarts, as it was her home for most of the year, but she was excited to be able to spend time with her brothers and sisters. She really did miss them when she was gone, and hated that Hogwarts had to be so far from home, or that they were unable to visit. Muggles didn't see a nice castle, but a run down one, as well as not being able to see the students inside it. So even if they were able to visit, they wouldn't see the school Trista had come to love over the years. For this reason, the coming summer months were as welcome as September to her.
Adjusting the butterfly clip that kept her hair from falling into her eyes, Trista ran her fingers through her ends to untangle them. She had decided on keeping her hair natural for the day since she didn't have classes, and was already regretting it. As much as she did love her curls, they were more prone to tangle than if her hair was straight. That being said, she would probably end up using a potion to fix it before she went to bed. Making a mental note to ask her sister how to tame her hair, she gathered her tresses to the side and let them hang over her left shoulder. It had actually gotten quite long, which was what she was aiming for. She thought it looked much better once she started letting it grow out. Admittedly, she had been allowing her ends to go dead and would need Kimberly to fix that problem before she returned to Hogwarts for her fifth year. If she returned that is. Things in the wizarding world were getting scarier by the day, and Trista was seriously debating on not coming back if they didn't get better. Her parents, of course, had no idea what was going on nor did they know that their daughter was thinking about leaving school. True she could always go back to muggle school, come up with the excuse that she was starting to dislike the school she had spent the last four years at.
It'd be a total lie of course, Hogwarts held some of the most amazing people Trista had the pleasure of meeting. Those who she would actually speak to, without being forced, at the very least. Like you can expect anywhere, there were people she wouldn't mind not having around. No, even they had made a change in her life, they were the ones who gave her most of her drive. In some odd way, they made her push herself to be better, just so she could prove that a muggle-born could be just as good as any pure-blood. Leaning back, using her arms for support, Trista knew that she would never be happy back at any muggle school. She would never truly belong, she had been away far too long for comfort. Leaving Hogwarts started to seem like even less of an option now that she had a chance to think just think about it. Trista highly doubted she would be able to do it. Not sure what she was going to do, she came to the conclusion that she had better enjoy her peace while she still could.---------------------------------------------STATUS; Complete
