LILY FLORA EVANS
"A lake of gold in the desert sand
Is less than a cool fresh spring
And to one lost sheep, a shepherd boy
Is greater than the richest king
If a man lose ev'rything he owns
Has he truly lost his worth?
Or is it the beginning
Of a new and brighter birth? "

Strength: Lily is far from a compulsive cleaner but usually never fails to wash up. She is the top of her class in Potions, so much so that the Slytherin Head of House sings the praises of the muggle-born. She defends whoever needs her. She has many unlikely allies. And despite many of her friends’ envy and quarrelling, Lily is usually able to mediate effectively.
Weaknesses: Although excellent at Charms and well enough at Defence against the Dark Arts, Lily prefers to use her hands. Often too trusting of people she ought not trust.
Patronus: Patronus form is a doe. Her happiest memory was a moment before she showed magical signs when she, her sister and father were playing on a beach. Before jealousy consumed the elder sister she idolized so dearly.
Dementor: Lily’s worst memory was when Petunia got angry with Lily for the younger sister’s accidental use of magic to cut Petunia’s hair. Lily never forgave herself for frightening and embarrassing her sister so cruelly though she had the best intentions at heart.
Quirks/Habits: Lily cannot walk past a puddle of muddy water without jumping into it. She’s also prone to stop fights where ever they may spring up. She also has a tendency to chew on her Potions ingredients while reading the instructions to potions.
Personality: Lily was raised lovingly. Her parents were amply attentive to her and her sister. Lily looked up to her sister immensely and for many years had more fondness for her than to her parents. Petunia was a gentle, quiet girl but Lily was more the opposite. Proud of her abilities, Lily was something of a daredevil as a child. She would often cut and bruise herself. She destroyed many dresses before her parents stopped buying them for her at all. Lily didn’t care, as her father told his workers as well as his daughters, ‘the body heals itself, worry about getting your work done.’ Lily laughed while Petunia glowered at the phrase.
Magical ability only increased Lily’s daring. Though she was proud, she was never arrogant. Always, she respected other people’s attempts. So when her parents asked her not to use magic outside their home, she agreed happily. Despite her promise, Lily wasn’t worried about breaking the ban every once in awhile.
Severus Snape initially disgusted Lily as much as he had done to Petunia. But after learning that he was able to do magic as well, her desire to ignore him vanished. He told her tales of witches and wizards and Hogwarts but Lily hardly believed it all until she was invited personally to attend classes at Hogwarts.

Birthplace: Cokeworth, England
Currently: Cokeworth, England
Parents:
Reginald Evans ||Father||43 yrs. old||Mill manager
Flora Evans||Mother||37 yrs. old||Mother
Siblings: Petunia Evans||Sister||14 yrs. old||Student
Other: Cwen Boudicea Gewissae||Cousin||15 yrs. old||Ravenclaw & also muggle-born
Pets: Sevvie, a black cat.
History: Her parents Reginald and Flora were a mill worker and chambermaid. After Lily’s birth, her father was promoted to a managing position and her mother was able to quit her job. Although quite innocent, the change marked the beginning of Petunia’s envy of her sister. Despite this, Lily idolized Petunia and followed her around like a puppy. Quite flattered by the attention, Petunia forgot about her initial animosity toward the little girl.
Where Petunia went, Lily followed closely. Despite this, it was usually Lily who started trouble. Her sister was very quiet and careful so Lily was free to be loud and care-free. The Evans’ Gewissae relatives are rich and pompous. Lily’s sister and the Gewissae daughter are bitter rivals. At a birthday party for another cousin, Lily witnessed Tuney being snubbed by Cwen Gewissae, Lily tried to defend her sister by throwing her ice cream on the offending girl’s head. Cwen cried and Lily laughed. But the Evans’, who never had a good relationshio with their wealthier relatives were estranged from then on out.
Lily showed signs of magic soon after and her parents were joyous but practical, they asked her not to use magic outside the house. Although she made the promise, Lily broke it a lot. She never went to preschool, her parents feared she would not be able to control her magic. Despite the prohibition outside, her parents encouraged her magical ability and helped her concentrate it even before any of the Evans knew about Hogwarts. At age nine, she learned that Severus Snape was also magical. He was an impoverished boy who lived nearby. He was also the same age as Lily. Despite an initial repulsion towards him, though more a copycat of her sister’s attitude toward Snape, Lily and Snape became good friends. Snape was impressed with Lily’s ability to perform complex magic already.
Lily doubted Snape’s tale of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to the very day that her owl post delivering the letter from Albus Dumbledore came under her nose. Her parents were excited, both because they would not have to put her through anymore Muggle school and because they felt having a witch in the family gave them a prestige over their wealthy relatives. At Hogwarts, Lily learned that her hated rich cousin was already in attendance at the school. She dared not tell her family however. Fearing they would lose their pride in her and knowing it would hurt Tuney even more.

Cwen was more than a little stressed when her professor proved amptly worried about her. It was, of course, the reason she wanted the Prefect badge. To be Rowena's favorite. The kindest, cleverest professor in the school. Though Cwen thought that revealing any sort of weakness or problems might diminish her chance at becoming Prefect. So she was naturally quite upset. Even being so foolish to have let those problems show themself in the first place. Perhaps Cwen wasn't clever enough to be a Ravenclaw prefect. She hadn't taken this whole ordeal seriously enough. Had she been smart, she would have had the foresight to be away from anyone, even Orion while waiting for some word from the Professor. The fact that she had even told Orion that she was worried was wholly unnecessary and now, at least from Cwen's persepective, completely destructive. On top of that, Helena was the last person that Cwen wanted to know about her personal problems. So it was with great reluctance and an exceptionally soft tone that Cwen admitted, "Orion seems to think that his family will hurt me if we remain friends." Cwen shrugged and continued even slower. Realizing now that it was extremely hard to say regardless of the current situation. "He said that he'll leave me if anything at all might happen." Despite the pain of saying the words, Cwen kept her expression set. Unwilling to ruin her chances of becoming Ravenclaw's prefect by falling to tears right now.
Cwen was so busy chastising herself for being so foolish that she hardly noticed Helena had spoken at all. She had made so many mistakes tonight, she wondered if it was the stress of the prefect badge that was getting to her or if she was simply a clumsy thinker. There didn't seem to be a clear answer in her head. The professor began to speak again. Cwen looked up suddenly and listened greedily. Cwen didn't think there would be an exam, most everything about the school was still well known. Far too recent to be considered history. She made a small grunt of victory at Helena's assumptions being completely wrong. Cwen enjoyed Rowena's swipe at Godric and Salazar as well. Especially Salazar since those Slytherin were the closest to the Ravenclaw in cleverness. She giggled softly at the joke.
Cwen nodded as Rowena explained her actions. She looked sideways at Helena, wondering if the founder's daughter even cared about the badge. Cwen turned back to the professor quickly. The question ignited Cwen's brain. She immediately spoke without waiting to be invited to. "I don't think I deserve the badge. I believe the badge deserves the candidate that is a consistent and ardent student of great work ethic. Someone who is impartial and fair. A born-," Cwen gulped suddenly. She hadn't meant to but it put a disruptive pause in her speech. She narrowed her eyes with annoyance for a second then continued, "leader." Cwen had meant to go on. But now just felt even more foolish than before. She nodded, trying to look across Rowena's desk with solid conviction but She began to bite her lip as she waited for someone to speak.
